Planning - double page spread intro page mock up

This is my double page spread intro page. I included an intro page to go with my double page spread as my double page didn't show all the characteristics of an article. I chose the same mise en scene as the front cover and contents page to keep the same theme on all sections of my magazine. For the title I chose the same font as my double page to keep them as similar to eachother as possible. For the article, I included the characteristic of having the first letter enlargened. I found this made the article look more professional and overall more appealing and powerful to the reader. I kept my article simple and split text into paragraphs where necessary, making it easier to read. For the main image, I decided to use a stock image as I had taken all the other photos on the other sections of my magazine my self. I chose the image to be one that stood out to the reader but at the same time one that fits in with the simplistic theme of my magazine. I chose to put this image along the bottom to maintain the photos power but keep more emphisis on the article itself. I found I had room down the right edge of the page so I added a simple gym themed picture to fill the gap. What I learnt from creating this intro page is that the position of the article on the page plays a large role in how much it stands out to the reader. I tried different positions for the article on the page but non seemed to create as much power as the one I chose.
