Research: Photo editing

In this task I took the chance to take some photos and test my editing skills using my phone. In the photo of the paintings I took the photo where there was sunlight shining over some of the photos. I edited this image by making the image brighter and adding more colour effect to the paintings. For the photo of the wall of poppies, I used the panoramic option on my phone to fit the whole wall into shot and give it a cool looking effect. I then edited the photo by increasing the brilliance and highlights of the poppies to create a bloody look and give the more power. I then increased the amount of shadowing which made the scaffolding around the poppies look black and almost surreal. On the final photo I cropped the photo down to focus more on the people talking in the background to add an idea of everyday life. I then increased the warmth of the photo whilst also increasing the shadowing and brightness to give the lighting a cool effect. I enjoyed doing this task as it allowed me to test my photography skills and explore the use of cameras on phones.
